With regards to the following scriptures, how did the messenger prepare the way of the Lord, what was his message/teaching?

Mal 3:1 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=39&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1) Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Mal 4:5 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=39&CHAP=4&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=5) Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Is 40:3 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=23&CHAP=40&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=3) The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Can you please provide scriptures to affirm your answers.

God bless you!

Greetings FF,

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

This Scripture taken from the Gospel of Luke...

John's message was a message of 'repentance' repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at Hand... turn from your wicked ways..
which means a 'turning away from wicked things'.. and Living Holy Life.. geared towards the things of God.. and following Him.. His Person..

'prepare' your heart and .. your whole being.. body soul and spirit.. for the Coming of the Just One....

His message thru the Power of the Spirit..

would 'turn' the hearts fo the fathers back to their children.. restoring the 'family' unit.. as God had planned from the very beginning.. A father as the head of the household...raising and taking care of his family.. his wife.. raising his children in a Godly Home...

thru the Power of the Spirit.. the disobedient would 'listen' and become 'attentive' and put into motion the message of the Just... their 'ear's would open.. and 'eyes' would open to the Truth..
they would turn from their disobedient ways and disobedient wisdom and onto the Wisdom of the Just..

he would make ready a people prepared for the Coming of the Lord... thru the power of the Spirit.. his message would cause people to prepare themselve... their whole being.. their house in order for the coming of the Just One.... They would turn from their worldly desires and focus on Heavenly desires... looking to Heaven for the Promise.. Living their lifes on Hope.. and Faith...In Him.. Standing on the Promises of God...

The Scriptue declares 'without holiness' no one will see the Lord..

Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

This is the Message of the Kingdom... as it was then so shall it be in the future.. prior to the 2nd Advent of the King of kings and Lord of lords.. the message of the coming Kingdom of God... invading from Heaven itself..

Just as it was in Johns day.. as it is today.. you have those who 'scoff' at His 2nd Advent.. the Revelation of Jesus the Christ..... many don't believe and flat out 'deny' a Literal Millennial Reign of Jesus the Christ here on this earth.. when He shall rule the nations of this earth.. with a rod of iron.. and put away satan and his followers for a 1000 years. They have their own theology as to what Kingdom of Heaven is and how it appears... just like the Pharisees of Jesus's Day.. they were looking for their 'own' messiah.. how they envisioned him...and were absolutely blinded to the Scripture Truth.. yet they were reading them daily in the Temple... the same will be Today...

God will raise and is raising up His People today... to tell people of the Coming of the Kingdom of God.. which is His Literal and Physical Return from Heaven.. Jesus Promised to Return and the Scripture declares it..Their message will be one Similar to Johns message.. to 'Repent, Turn from your wicked ways... and Look towards Heaven... for the Coming of the Kingdom is At Hand...

Jesus' own Words.. were to Watch, Pray, and Watch Therefore... to be attentive and discerning as to the times.. and when you see these things come to pass.. then to Look towards Heaven... with Hope and Joy.. in the belief that Your Redemption.. draweth nigh...

How did the following prepare the way of the Lord?

to 'Repent, Turn from your wicked ways... and Look towards Heaven... for the Coming of the Kingdom is At Hand...

Mt 3:1 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1) In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
Mt 3:2 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=2) And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mt 3:3 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=3&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=3) For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

According to the following why did the givers of the law not accept the way of the Lord as preached by John the baptist?

Lk 7:29 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=42&CHAP=7&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=29) And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

Lk 7:30 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=42&CHAP=7&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=30) But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

How does that compare with this, knowing that Christ fulfilled it?

Gen 49:10 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=1&CHAP=49&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=10) The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Thank God for the way of the Lord prepared by John the baptist!!!!!!

Luke 1:76-80
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

With regards to the following scriptures, since Jesus was following the way prepared by John the baptist, and Jesus fulfilled what is written, did John the baptist also fulfil that which is written?

Gen 49:10 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=1&CHAP=49&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=10) The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

This is in regards to John the baptists mesage, and the fact that the law givers did not accept the council of God according to Johns message.

John the Baptist prepared the way by preaching repentance and Baptising with water.
Jesus would then later baptise with fire and the Holy Spirit.

Repent and be baptised everyone of you, and you shall recieve the Holy Spirit.

How do we follow Paul as he followed Christ, with the understanding that Jesus followed the way prepared by John the baptist and that which John preached was rejected by the givers of the law?

1 Cor 11:1 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=46&CHAP=11&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=1) Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

I don't think you can say Jesus followed John, that exalts John. John prepared the way for Jesus, submitted to Jesus, didn't feel worthy to tie his shoe.

We follow Paul ONLY in the sense that he followed Jesus. He met him, knew him, and understood what was expected of him and did what was expected. So we study the scripture, prove all things, test the spirits, allow the true fruits of the Spirit to shine forth, walk in truth, teach others, remain in prayer, and don't give way to the flesh. That is what is expected of us.

Jesus preached that we are to repent, I think it is Matt. 4:17 or 19. The overall message was for an unbelieving world to walk away from their own self centered lives and center themselves BACK on God.

What is the gospel that we must believe?

Mt 4:17 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=40&CHAP=4&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=17) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mk 1:14 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=41&CHAP=1&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=14) Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mk 1:15 (http://bibledatabase.org/cgi-bin/bib_search/bible.cgi?BIBLE=48&BOOK=41&CHAP=1&SEARCH=jesus king lord&Read=Read&FIRST=OK&HV=15) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

What is the gospel we have received?
